On the morning of September 17, 2025, in Hanoi, the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance organized the workshop “AI & Cyber Security – Creating a Smart Security Future” to support businesses in applying artificial intelligence in monitoring, identifying, and early warning of risks, thereby enhancing prevention and response capabilities against sophisticated cyber attacks.
The workshop received sponsorship from the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05 – Ministry of Public Security), the National Cybersecurity Association (NCA), and the Vietnam Software & IT Services Association (VINASA), gathering over 300 delegates including leaders of management agencies, technology and cybersecurity experts, and many interested businesses.
Delivering a keynote speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh – Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Cybersecurity Association, former Director of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Ministry of Public Security, affirmed that the Association will accompany the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance and direct the Alliance to strengthen cooperation between businesses – agencies – organizations, enhance the application of AI in cybersecurity, build an ecosystem for data and experience sharing, and contribute to advanced security standards and solutions to protect national cyberspace.
Opening the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang – Chairman of the CYSEEX Alliance, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of MISA Joint Stock Company emphasized: “In the context of increasingly sophisticated cyber security threats, especially when hackers exploit AI to attack with an increase of over 60% in 2024, causing hundreds of billions of dollars in global damage, the application of AI in security has become an urgent requirement. AI is both a challenge and a “golden key” that helps organizations detect, respond, and protect systems up to 45% more effectively. The “AI Cybersecurity – Creating a Smart Information Security Future” workshop is organized to gather the business community and experts to identify risks, discuss modern AI trends and solutions in cybersecurity.”
At the beginning of the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang – Head of the CYSEEX exercise organizing committee, Information Security Director of MISA Joint Stock Company – summarized the 2025 activities of the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance with 6 exercises that detected 315 vulnerabilities, 4/7 member units conducted phishing exercises for over 14,000 employees, along with a common threat sharing platform with over 100 million IoCs, helping to shorten attack detection time by 40-50%. In his presentation “Proactive Defense with a Digital Twin Security Expert”, Mr. Hoang stated that AI-powered attacks have a success rate of up to 70%, far exceeding the 47.6% of manual methods, forcing organizations to shift to a “machine-versus-machine” model. The orientation for 2026 is for Alliance members to achieve AI maturity level 3, considering “digital twins” as accompanying tools in monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response.
In his presentation “Who Dominates in Cyber Security?”, Mr. Vu Ngoc Son – Head of Technology Department of the National Cybersecurity Association, Technology Director of NCS – argued that cybersecurity currently faces a “dark side” with sophisticated attack risks, a “gray area” due to lack of human resources and strategy, and a “bright side” from the opportunity to master technology. Expert Vu Ngoc Son noted that AI can help detect anomalies, analyze malware, and automate processes but also poses challenges regarding people, data, technology, and finance. Therefore, AI is no longer an option but has become an indispensable requirement, and whoever masters AI will gain a competitive advantage.
Sharing about the global cybersecurity landscape, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai – Security Expert at Fortinet Vietnam, stated that the number of vulnerabilities, stolen data, and AI-powered attacks is rapidly increasing. 2024 recorded 40,000 new vulnerabilities, over 1.7 billion leaked identity credentials, and a 600% increase in AI-powered attacks; 80% of businesses are expected to adopt AI-enhanced SOC by 2025. Mr. Hai emphasized that AI is now the front line of cybersecurity, helping to detect risks early and automate responses to cyber threats.
Mr. Tran Quoc Long – Head of Solution Consulting, Vietsunshine Company – warned that AI is becoming a new tool for cybercriminals, helping to shorten ransomware attack times from 13.5 hours to 3 hours, while the risks from “prompt injection” attacks make threats increasingly sophisticated and difficult to detect. Mr. Long advised businesses to promptly apply AI in network monitoring, behavior analysis, and sensitive data management to detect risks early, automate responses, and minimize damage.
Representing Dell Technologies, Ms. Cao Thuy – Solution Expert – argued that as businesses expand AI applications, they will face cybersecurity risks such as data leakage, model manipulation, and supply chain attacks. Therefore, businesses need a secure AI platform based on multiple layers of security, continuous monitoring, and rapid recovery capabilities from independent backup data, to help businesses maintain stable operations and apply AI sustainably.
Also within the framework of the program, to recognize continuous efforts, the CYSEEX Alliance honored and rewarded collectives and individuals who achieved excellent results in information security exercises. Specifically, Best Blueteam: MISA – The defensive team that won 1st prize multiple times; Best Redteam: Viettel Solution – The offensive team that won 1st prize multiple times; Member with the most valuable sharing: Mobifone – Content on system hardening to enhance security; Most improved member: Bao Viet – With significant investment in resources, achieving excellent Blueteam multiple times.
Concluding the workshop, the Chairman and members of the CYSEEX Alliance committed to decisively applying AI to detect and prevent risks early. Each member will always be proactive, together building a safe cyberspace for the Vietnamese business community. The Alliance aims to enhance members’ capabilities in exploiting AI tools, maintaining offensive-defensive exercises, incident response, strengthening phishing and fraud prevention, and promoting knowledge sharing to improve information security protection capabilities in cyberspace.
The action slogan of the CYSEEX Information Security Alliance 2026 is: AI – Proactive – Secure. The CYSEEX Alliance enters a new phase with the determination to pioneer the application of AI to create a proactive defense combined with practical exercises – ensuring cybersecurity.
The CYSEEX Information Security Alliance (short for Cyber Security Exercise) is an alliance initiated by MISA with Sapo, Viettel Solutions, Bao Viet, Mobifone, Bravo, and welcoming new member Giao Hang Tiet Kiem, with the purpose of: Sharing knowledge and experience to enhance capabilities in preventing and responding to information security incidents in cyberspace.
The CYSEEX workshop, held annually since 2022, is an opportunity to share knowledge and experience, helping members enhance their capabilities in preventing and responding to cybersecurity incidents. |
